It’s going to be an exciting few weeks for Green Pixel :D We have Project Play next Sunday, which will be our first public show! I don’t know if any current reader/players will be there but I hope to gather some new ones in person! Hopefully, a short TPD2 demo will be ready to go!
We’ve also signed up for the StartOff competition! It’s a local entrepreneur competition that offers some pretty awesome prizes for its ten winners. Prizes that will help me and Rich create a better company. The theme of the competition is retro gaming and that makes me smile inside because that’s exactly what we do! :D The winners will be determined by public votes and I’m not sure if any of the other competitors have a webcomic with an amazingly supportive fanbase behind them :D I think we got this and I’ll keep you all updated when the competition starts! We’d also like to make a small (like 48-hour small) flash game to get some more supporters! We shall see :D
Enjoy Scene 31 – “Trust. Help.”!
Who can you find in the Hammerston suburbs? Vote to see! Please vote for The Pocalypse here everyday! (Powerfist, Greybane, Rosa, Cross, Stinger, Jake, Obliteration, and Doc are in this one!) I’m going to try coming up with a new incentive every update (or every few updates) :D Thank you for voting!
You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS!
Have a great weekend! :D
Where did Bernie’s suit go?
:3 That plant is so adorable~
This is gonna be an epic fight! I can’t wait!
And on that day the Organic Alliance was founded.
Which does make sense, considering that many flora rely on animals to transport their seeds to new areas. Self aware machines wouldn’t really rely on humans for anything, unless they harvested people to build cyborgs CABAL style.
i love these chapter the plants are si cute and what happened to arbiter suit
Loved this part, looking forward to what comes next. Hope the alliance is as good as it sounds, if the humans and plants do actually get along, that could change the balance of the war. Interesting as such. Going to really be looking forward to what all comes in the future. You got a good story going, Author Joe.
THAT IS EPIC!!! Nice work Joe!
I love The Pocalypse, but please, scale down the Scruffleback bark, it is just to loud
inb4 someone suggests a plant-suit.
hahah plant spooge
Best episode since Rosa killed that Elder!
@Zipto – That is a great suggestion and I believe I will! :D
Great Scene Joe. Love the plants!
Plants Vs Machines! A much better game than Plants v Zombies! XD
I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned this already but a human/plant alliance would be highly effective against vampires as well. Remember those stakes are deadly to vampires.
Plants VS Machines VS Zombies VS Vampires VS Mutants VS Humans
It was originally a 6 way war.
Things have scaled up a bit since:
Zombies and Vampires united to become Zompyres
Machines have captures (and probably assimilated) some mutants
Humans and Plants have created an allegiance
It is basically now a 3-way war instead of a 6-way war, but all three sides are equally powerful and balanced…
Zombies give invulnerability, continuous existence, as well as easy multiplication while vampires give strength and psychic powers.
Machines give knowledge and firepower while mutants would give machines instict.
Humans have technology and ideas against machines, while plants give millions of expendable and powerful units that continuously grow in numbers.
Of course, the humans have a Zompyre (Rosa), a mutant of a high level (AKA: original mutant Greybane), as well as a powerful mind with incredible psychic powers (who is a liability though…). If the humans were to discover a machine or machine-humanoid and make it part of their team, they’d have a member of each race in their midst… On less aliens came into play (this IS the ultimate Pocalypse after all!)
In case anyone wonders about the previous Machine&Mutant statement:
-The machines realize that they are missing something as they see how the plants and humans work together and easily defeat them.
-They decide that they need to get an upgrade, but realize they do not know what they are missing that low lifeforms such as humans and plants possess.
-They decide to instead turn the captured mutants (similar to those who were being held previously in the same facility as Greybane) into controlled minions who do the bidding of machines in order to determine what they lack (instinct).
-The technologically avanced Mutants would therefore become a great weapon to the Machine-cause!
Also forgot to mention Sam when I wrote the previous article about the integrants of the colony… Add a mutant shaped super-mind to that list…
This alliance will destroy the balance. What will happen when the machines are destroyed?
In the world of the Pocalypse, there can be only one.
Erik. Cant wait. For. Next episode.
Did anyone realize that Sam’s character is based on Dr. Who?
@Lucas – Haha, interesting! I’ve also been told that Doc resembles a character from Fringe! I’ve never seen either show! :D
Boy, that escalated quickly.
To everyone wondering about Arbiter it is sitting right in between Bernie and Joe. He took it off to weep last scene
hellllll yes! so kinda called it alongside a few other commentators last page!
now the question here is, since the plant showed them plant spider things to help em out thru Bernies mind… how they gonna be helping fight the machines??? (since the talking plant orb showed the help in his mind… but back in the real world out on the streets right there.
K Joe i would very much like to ask…..
The machines have in a way a Super computer aka 1 mind control all
The plants are in mainly always be basically a 1 minded being but just wel…seperated body
So please…give this a thought….the zombie virus is powerful and since it is a virus it can evolve..explain how some diseases were thought extincty or at least eradicated until it showed up more deadly due to it evovling to bypass its original vacine
So please…add some kind of intelligent being for zombies…..zombires dont count….please im getting enough of werwolf crap and vampire stuff…the twilight crap was ad enough and im a big fan of zombies…please add a good being to them…it seems as though every other race is gettng stronger but the zombies seem to stay the same (ZOMPIRES DONT COUNT…THEY DISGRACE ZOMBIE NAME) please add a new zombie :3
bypass problem isnt right word but heh im tired and cant tink of any good words right now….also forgot to mention…nice use of plant talking to human and great joe reaction…hehe…plant spooge
@scavenger so far the nature of the zombies has shown they are brainless corpses running on instinct, i don’t think its possible for them to gain the capacity for thinking let alone morals which would be needed for a character to be considered good. as for the evolving aspect of the virus, there is no vaccine and even if there was it still wouldn’t justify the re-evolution of cognitive thought.
can everything mind craft.whats next zombies mind crafting (zompires not included).mutants mind crafting!
YES! I can only hope that the plants aren’t liars and evil like vampires – and everyone else. I’m afraid that the plant-gibberish was actually the plant speaking to others so Bernie couldn’t understand.
geoff, i dont think the elder is dead yet. Wouldn’t he burst into ashes?
@Kingjd I suggest that that’s the comic’s equivalent of paranormal contact: machines contact like aliens; vampires, like demons; plants, like nature spirits.
@ nightarix
Yes i know that a virus cant truly evovle unless given someone that will fight it (vacine) but try to expalin zombies in left4dead, dead island, and i forgot a 3rd one….not resident evil…those zombies were altered kinda… intentially
All im asking is that viruses can adapt..thegame pandemic 2..or 1…involes being one of 3 sickness and u can make it tougher and tougher…so why not the virus try to oh i dnt know..evolve the body it is controlling to be a bit more…bttr chance at munching then getting head blown off….even u would probably love seeing zombies jump like the hunters or shoot realy longtongues…or even better…kamakazi zombies…hate them ones on dead island//oh and m not sying the that the virus is trul smart but ry to wandert then…what create the virus? and who was the first?
anyone getting borderlands 2?
just a simple question
also..what was movie called involving a temple getting like 5-7 teenagers on it then surrounded by soldiers and trapped with some smart and very deadly plant that can mimic cellphone call?
@scavenger
Hmm… Jumanji?
Wait no, here:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=plant+that+can+mimic+cell+phone+call
Omg that is just super cool!
Click! My! Naaaaaame..
Anyway this is going to be awesome.. inb4 humanplant.
I just realized that the intelligent plant thing was actually just normal plant spider with an intelligent sack thingy.
thank you pseudonym although i have searched before but i guess i never thought the exact phrase that i said would get it…but thanks ive been trying to remeber what the name was..good movie and also gotta admit that was a pretty good what ya did lol
@stranger: heh, intelligent sack….. Heh, plant spooge…
i knew that the plant and humans will make an alliance!
@scavenger i dont think zombies could evolve naturaly…maybe only by eating a mutant or maybe plant or vampire or being mutated by machines or the colony with the mutant dogs
@Joe will that colony appear with the mutant dogs appear again?
what ever happened to Graybane?
Lol plant spooge that’s a new word if I ever heard one! XD Love that part! Now I’m wondering if this could be some kind of trap, a temporary alliance, or a permanent alliance due to the way of life (plants provide oxygen and wood, people keep plants alive in gardens and whatnot). I am also wondering why they are forming an alliance now if they originally trapped Joe and released Inner Joe in a seemingly offensive manner. Hmmm… oh yeah, and I am also happy for the longer episode this time. XD
@Vampire Super Boy
I do ink zombies can evolve naturally because zombies from left 4 dead seemed to evolve by themselves…same for a game called dead frontier except their zombies are bit more extreme..fun game though….although i would like to say resident evil zombies dont freaking count…they were a manmade..sorta virus and the evolments they achiev was put into theviruses code therefore their evoluon was controlled not natural
and also..mutant dogs?
AND he has no idea once the machines are gone the plants will rule all.
@NeoWarrior What about Harry? There’s your humanoid-machine right there.
wow that was awesome. I must admit i laughed when joe said about the plant scooge
