Taking a computer break this weekend by going camping with the family before the camping season rush starts :D I have to manually approve first-time commenters so if you leave a comment that doesn’t show up, I’ll approve it when I get back! And, thank you all for leaving comments – you don’t know how much you all help with the story!
Have a great weekend and go out and enjoy the sun! :D

(First?)
Nice upgrade for Arbiter, but what if sentinel goes out without anti hacking defenses?
“Do you see a satellite strapped onto it?” I must admit, I laughed SO hard at this. I love you Doc, never change. I love these characters you made Joe, and that was a beautiful turn around. “Backfire” is a geniosly fitting name for this scene.
Even if Victor can’t move, doesn’t he have his insane mental powers? Why can’t he use them?
@Supaserrin My guess is that, when a machine completes an override order, it has to wait for non-override orders before it can function normally.
Damn, Victor/Smyth was cocky, leaving a huge backdoor like that in the enemies hands. Was he so full of himself? Or underestimated the humans? Maybe both? But nice save by doc regardless :D
@Supaserrin it’s because he has been given the machine body he becomes fully apart of it. I believe it was explained a bit earlier. While it does give him new powers, it gives him new weaknesses. Arguably he’s weaker now, the most likely the intention of the machines as they tricked him into becoming a machine himself.
I finally found Shalidar’s sprite, it was well hidden.
@ShiftyOne I’d actually guess that the Machines seek the perfect mind to be put into their “perfect being” project, and Victor was the closest mind with powers at hand. Although… if the machines are trying to create “the perfect being”, why exactly are they at war with the plants? Surely control of plant biology like Rosa has is something that they’d desire for their perfect being? Oh dear, I do hope that they don’t decide to go after Rosa, Joe would do horrible things to them if they tried, but if they succeeded who’s to say that the result would be anything close to sane?
@Cubix Yes, he is absolutely full of himself. Completely. He is immature, cocky, and full of wrath. The biggest strengths and weaknesses put together. Someone like that does not know fear or hesitation, but for that reason doesn’t know about very good reasons why he should fear and hesitate.
