Long days, unbearably hot weather, thick humidity… you know what that means! Steam Summer Sale!
I’ve picked up Banished so far so Oxygen Not Included goes back to the bench :D Really into base-building/survival – any hidden gems on sale? Is Space Engineers any good?
Enjoy Scene 51 – “State-of-the-art”!

I liked space engineers, though it is very sandbox. Try it out if you like to build fancy things! In terms of survival, I’ve never tried it that way, so I wouldn’t know. I personally liked Terraria; if you haven’t tried it, its pretty good all around.
“State of the art”, come on. Even Bernie, let alone Doc, could whip up 10x better than that gun+targeting system.
And here I was getting a bit suspicious about Cap Pearson…
I don’t know if this is a glitch or what, but one of the holes Joe made at the end of the scene stayed after it ended.
@matthew
joe went a little wild. would be funny if it spawned a desktop window that stays around after closing the browser.
Hehehe, nice detail with the crater in the credits screen Joe :P
The crater is a glitch i think. When i replayed the scene, the crater was still there.
wait it was the crater closer to the left.
@All – Haha, the crater was an unintended glitch! Fixed! Thanks for the catch! :D
When I saw the gun, I knew Joe would show him up.
@Joe – Awwww! I thought it was intentional! To give punch and effect to joe’s power, like “He was so strong, his crater even hit the credits screen!”. Consider that tool at least, I thought it was being used and it would have been really well implemented (given you would want to give punch to joe’s actions)
Wait, “Enjoy Scene 51 – “Reunited”!”? Isn’t it State-of-the-art?
@Pokeranger – It is, indeed! Thanks for the catch :D
Terraria blends a final fantasy vibe with the essence of minecraft. You got like a huge 2D adventure where you build homes for different kinds of NPCs all while fighting different kinds of awesome and intense bosses. Theres even guns!
Space Engineers is a really really fun space exploration game. Theres not much in combat but you can build gigantic ships and the addition of mods give it some serious case of creativity.
Subnautica is a underwater survival game which pits you against the alien ocean. Sea monsters lurk in the darker depths while you salvage bits off a crashed colony ship. Theres a crap ton to explore too not to mention a fleet of fully-customisable sea exploration vessels to aid you in finding out what happened to your crew. Not to mention building a sea base as well.
