Yup, early post, since I didn’t get any sleep last night! There are just way too many things on my mind and it won’t let my body sleep. The few cups of coffee I had last night aren’t helping either, I guess :D
Speaking of the mind’s effect on the body, check out this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12785274. I found it interesting and agreeable that the psychological effects of the looming Fukushima nuclear plant are more damaging than the radiation spewing from it (speaking as a person who is outside the recommended evacuation zone). I know how mentally and physically taxing stress, worry, and negativity are. I remember times when I’d be so stressed (back in my good ol’ school days, mostly) that my body would actually be sore the next day from involuntarily flexing muscles and body shivers.
Since those days, I’ve learned how to deal with tough situations (for the most part) and I feel that, nowadays, I’m able to take more risks under the mantra of “Everything will always work out.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about to go sky diving without a parachute or anything, but I’ve learned that sometimes you just have to ignore the negative what-ifs that your logical mind throws at you and just go with your gut. Heck, I wouldn’t have started The Pocalypse if I listened to the negative what-ifs like, “What if no one reads this? You’re just wasting your time.” or “What if this actually gets popular? That’s a lot of work on your plate!”
Anyways, I don’t even know if my sleep-deprived ramblings are making any sense :D Good thing I wrote today’s scene yesterday, eh?

The little kid is sooooo cute! He has a bit of a resemblence to Joe though… Is he Joe’s detested cousin who Joe will cry and yell about when he sees he hasn’t died yet?

I think I like this Rusty character, but possibly because the idea of ruining a kid’s hopes and dreams at every turn is just my kind of thing. Or maybe I’m too sick of stupid YouTube comments. Either way, he’ll probably die heroically.
I am just now reminded of Left 4 Dead.
Actually Rusty makes me think of a man whom is tired of false hope, wants to live, wants those around him to survive, and doesn’t see those around him living long with any delusions of how dire their situation is. (he probably likes the kid, maybe envies him too)
