Yup, I have been reunited with my wife and baby in Kyoto! I travelled 2 hours via Shinkansen (bullet rain) west from Yokohama. I still felt safe in Yokohama, but my wife and I wanted to be together again, so we decided on Kyoto for a little mini-vacation away from all the scary news and speculations.
This is our second time in Kyoto, so I somewhat know my way around and what to see again. I absolutely love this city. It wasn’t affected by the fire bombs of WW2, so all of the historic and traditional buildings and temples are intact. You can really feel the “old” spirit of Japan here, especially compared to ultra-modern and metropolitan Tokyo.
I hope to get some pictures of the city up for you guys! One of my favourite spots is Nijo Castle, a stronghold that would be totally safe from zombies (if adequately supplied, of course). I definitely plan on swinging by there.
I have my laptop and an internet connection in our tiny hotel room, so I may get scenes uploaded as usual! :D My wife has spent the last week on her own with the baby, so this is really her vacation :)
Enjoy Filler Scene 6 – “Hello, Kyoto!”
You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS, too!
And, please continue to vote! :D Arbiter’s sketch is still the incentive!
Sad that it’s a filler, but enjoy your mini-vacation :D
Lol, I think a certain someone really enjoyed the Fallout series before the Pocalypse happened and really wishes it was exactly like it.
What was that Janitor’s Name? Wasn’t it Fred or somesuxh?
*Glares at typo* I meant somesuch of course. The forever dreaded ‘x’ seems to be stalking me.
Heh.
Indeed the brains eh!
I hope you all have fun away from home
Joe: Reunite with loving wife and son.
Sorry, I just couldn’t help it.
Enjoy your stay! And thanks for the headdeskingly stupid and hilariously funny Joe lines ;)
To be honest, Joe’s right :D
といきょう
and
きょうとう
Are in theory spelled backwards.
For yall whom cant seem to understand easy hiragana, it’s
“Tokyo
and
Kyoto”
Oh and I forogt.
If you just really use the English spellings with Japanese Characters in mind Toyko and Kyoto are spelled each other backwards :D
Man do i make since when i’m tired :3
@SirBounceAlot – Which janitor?
@Anonymous_Jr – Haha, yes, if you put it that way, Joe really -is- the brains of this operation! :D
@draconita
yea but sad for Joe(non-author) it wasn’t a nuclear war that caused this apocalypse so they still have real money
hey joe, i have been following the comic for a wile now ,since scene 16 i think. I really like it the story is great lots of fun mystery and a little bit of drama for the taste, but i have a small thing that is bothering me and thas the characters not how they are or act but how they look it looks like they are all based on the same 4 character desings but with minor changes to their faces but you stilll see lots of similarities.i know it is diffucult to make them and you spend a lot of time in it but some greater changes in the faces would be great. ow and this is supporting critisism it really is the only thing i dont like about the comic.
ryan
not the faces of the spirites but the actual drawings
@Joe – Yay Replies :3
{ಠ-ಠ} Mudkip approves
@Me – Whelp failed emote D:
{ಠ_ಠ} Better? I’ll assume yes :P
@ryan – Thanks for the critique! Yes, the faces have needed work since day 1 (I still remember similar critiques from way back then :) ). Indeed there is a lot to work on with this comic (animations, sprites, locations, faces, story, etc.), but that’s the format I chose and improvements can and will be made as the comic goes, thanks in huge part to useful critiques like yours :D
Japan has always held some mysticism for many people, I myself would love to get to experience all the history. I feel oddly jealous depsite the whole disaster problem going on

In Fallout 2, you get the pocket lint off of a Janitor in the Vault City Vault.
