Thank you to all of you who have been constantly keeping an eye on the site and letting me know of malware issues :D Without all of you and your great advice, I wouldn’t even know where to start getting rid of any malware issues! The past few weeks have been a hit-and-miss, trial-and-error battle between a seemingly automatic virus/exploit and myself, manually deleting any code injections that popped up in the sites many, many files of code. And, after every “wipe”, I’ve had to regularly contact Google to lift the site warning that they very rightfully placed on the site.
So, this is how it’s been going:
1) I get a warning from Google or my anti-virus software or from you and I check to see where the code injections are.
2) I go ahead and delete all the bad stuff and/or overwrite bad files with older, clean files.
3) After everything seems okay and my anti-virus software doesn’t detect anything, I ask Google for a site review to lift the site warning.
4) When Google gives the green light, everything seems clean and the site is back to normal again :D Yay! Until…
5) The malicious code returns and we’re back to step 1. And, I also pout :(
It definitely sucks, especially thinking that everything is okay after all that tedious work, only to have that work undone by some mysterious and annoying malware. After every clean up, I try something new to protect the site, whether via your advice or a Google search (I’m definitely no web expert haha). I like to think that I’ve figured it out and the site is safe but all I can do for now is keep my fingers crossed and remain vigilant. Thank you again for all your help and I know the site will get through this :D
I’m really sorry if the site has infected anyone’s system :( I hope the majority of you protect yourselves better than I do and I hope that whatever is infecting the site is as common and harmless as the articles that I’ve read claim.

Joe, the virus is/was in the ads. Whenever I get a message about my anti-virus blocking a virus on the page, it blanks out an ad.
Yayyy! It’s getting good. It looks like the evil always finds an out.

Don’t work, I don’t think the virus infected anyone if the person is smart enough to have an anti-virus. The Blackhole was well known when it became widespread and probably detected by every AV software at this point. And it’s probably coming from the ads.
Also, I’m really hoping things would go better from here.

Well I guess this explain that. By that I mean how Victor ended up in Joe’s head. The modifications wich were tried on him worked, it changed the mind by making it a living one, but the body couldn’t bear all that and it died. So te mind had to go to the nearest or must powerful host, Joe appaently, eventually spending so much time with him that it asumed to be the real one trapped in a fake.
And now that he was “killed” (more likely banned from Joe’s mind) he is doing the same thing to poor Smyth, probably because he is the more powerful that he can control… only he can’t have already forgotten his time has being Joe… My conclusion is that Victor is totally batshit crazy insane.
@Surin I agree with all of the above, but I thought we knew he was far gone out the belfry even from the beginning when blackeyed Joe/Victor had a penchant for wanting to murder everything in sight. And if Victor is a mind parasite…then how much of the jerkiness expressed by Real Joe was actually Victor’s subconscious influence? Anika expressed that while her brother was troubled, he was kind at heart and genuinely wanted to help people. Was she being naive or was Joe actually a different person before Victor infected his mind?

For like a week I’ve been trying to make a parody of “This is Halloween” called “This is Malware”. It is hard. Plus schoolwork and stuff don’t really allow me much time in the first place. And then there is the new Pokemon game… Yeah.. Sorry. I don’t think I will be able to make it anytime soon.

Great episode once again! But once again, agonizingly short. I also really want to punch Jake in the face. My character has powers just like Joe does, but instead, he has powers over water and ice. He is the most dangerous person in the universe with these abilities, since he can control them down to a molecular scale, allowing him to even freeze every water molecule in your body. Doing so would cause those molecules to expand, and upon thawing, your body would be nothing more than a pile of mush. Trust me, I looked it up. Thankfully, doing this is something he has never done because he deems it too cruel. However, he threatens to use it from time to time, and when he threatens something like that, he ALWAYS means it. He wants to do that to some part of Jake right now. Almost. XD

Well, Jake is going to be the new Cross. And as for Victor taking Smyth, it makes sense if you think about how the living mind needs a body neither living or dead. Smyth isn’t exactly alive, but not quite dead either. My guess here is Joe was a volunteer, and Annika has not seen Joe after that event.
It is unlikely Victor will get hold of Joe again. We can only guess what Victor can do, at least in the real world as Smyth isn’t particulary special aside from Vampire. As for Joe, he is in a bad spot also. Aside from the fact it looks like he attacked the colony, and the only ones that know better are Sam and Rosa. On the flip side, he has all his powers back with Victor gone, even if Joe doesn’t know how to use them yet.
Great, plot twist full chapter! I look forward to future episodes in The Pocalypse!
I hope that Joe gets his memory back finds a way to bring Annika back and I also hope we can see victor one last time
major heroic BSOD for someone who isn’t exactly a hero I mean he does tend to do things for partially selfish-ish reasons but he is a bit of an idiot so yeah, wonder how this will go down. as for Victor-Smythe he will a peasant’s death and it shall be legendary!!!
