I wanted Venom to get good reviews. I wanted to see it tonight with my little guy who loves these dark, evilish heroes and villains. But, bad reviews and being compared to Halle Berry’s Catwoman (what) keeps me from dropping the price of the tickets. Do bad reviews keep you from seeing an otherwise anticipated movie? I have a loose rule saying that if a movie gets lower than 75% on Rotten Tomatoes, I wait for the home release or even until it lands on Netflix. With Venom currently sitting at 30%, the trailers not looking too great, Tom Hardy himself criticizing his own movie, and Sony having a pretty terrible track record when it comes to superhero movies, I just can’t see myself watching it on the big screen. Have you seen it yet? What did you think, especially compared to the MCU’s films?
Plus, and I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, I’m a huge Toronto Raptors fan and they’re playing Melbourne tonight in pre-season so I guess I’ll watch that!

Hmm a converted Doc would be a very scary enemy
I had to watch the scene three times to
1. finish reading Doc’s last sentence
2. have my attention back with the pictures to watch him get mugged.

@LockPick Well you’ll never find a stable genius so I think its Doc’s quirk/insanity kicking in.
Hmm… Doc’s mind is one of the strongest among vanilla-humanity, which makes me think of two possibilities:
1 – Simon can’t control Doc’s mind as any attempts would be frustrated (remember Dominik?);
2 – Simon will train Doc (which I believe would be pretty much possible as Doc’s mind is as open as a child’s) which will turn him into one of the most capable mind crafters ever.
