That was a fun chapter to make! :D I agree with a lot of you that following a group of “normal” survivors was a nice change of pace and we will be seeing more of that!

@Erik No, she’s only a vampire. Even Cross seemed surprised at this. We don’t yet know why she only turned into a vampire, and not a zompire.

I was also stuck on the loading screen, but it works if you right click and go to “Play”, that will bring you to the next screen. or at least, it worked for me. :p
and also, ryan had a good question. why doesnt cross pull the stakes out?
My theory is either
A. He believes they look badass and to heck if he’s going to lose that image
B. The same reason you don’t want to pull an arrow sticking out of your leg (It huuuuuurrrts)
C. “Spikes? What spikes?”
D. Stakes kill vampires, but only if they pass all the way through them, or get pulled out. The same goes for zompires. (Giving him a possible Achilles Heel even when he does become godly powerful)
Those are my guesses

Actually, it’s if the stakes pierce the heart Willy, that or stakes have no relation to Pocalypse vampires.
Hmm… I think maybe Rosa didn’t turn into a Zompire because she’s immune to the Zombie Virus or whatever? It’s a pretty common ‘zombie apocalypse’ trope, where one of the characters is bitten (and the teeth actually pierce the skin, XD) but doesn’t turn. Which means that maybe, just maybe, Doc could find a Zombie Virus Cure by examining Rosa’s blood.
Or maybe Rosa just didn’t fully transform through sheer willpower, or some other Applied Phlebotinum. Author Joe will let us know when he’s ready.
