Well, I think that wraps up Chapter 8! FINALLY!! :D
I decided to end the chapter here for a few reasons:
1) The major story streams (Philip’s family and Andrius on a boat, Greybane and crew to a new colony, the rest of the characters back at New Hammerston, and Joe) are all now at a point where they need a new chapter start.
2) I want to leave this super dragged out chapter behind and try harder for a fresh start myself :D
3) The more immediate and fun reason: an entire story recap! I usually do a chapter recap after every chapter but this time I’m going to revisit Chapter 1 to 8 and do the entire story. I hope new and old readers enjoy the summary but it’s really more to remind myself about the overall story to tie up loose ends and avoid more continuity issues as we move to Chapter 9 :D

Somn that kinda surprises me, even though I’ve just realized it, is that even though a month or longer can come between scenes Joe still hasn’t lost his edge. They’re still awesome!
Which reminds me, I have some people I need to tell about the new scene.
This scene was gold! And ideal as end of the chapter as well. I’m looking forward to see the story recap, I think we old readers need to refresh our memory as well :D (For example I can’t seem to remember who or what caused the fires we see in the last part of this scene in New Hammerstone… was it Victor when he faced the soldiers in Joe’s body perhaps?)

Great ending scene! Im super excited to see what happens to Rosa (Zombie-immune Vampire plant?) and what happens to all the rest of the characters! Keep it up and congrats on the girl!

@Firanai: a few scenes ago Joe was considering that option, so he might still be willing to do it in the future, but he said he wants to see if he manages to get back to a regular schedule with the updates first.

poor joe…somehow, i´m STILL hoping annika will come back somehow, though for the life of me i can´t say how…although….maybe the plants could do something? they surely seem to have quite a few aces up their leaves: first stopping that rocket which would have destroyed the entire colony, now they appear to do something to rosa that will make her imune to the sun, heck maybe even do photosynthesis so she won´t need blood anymore – thats my interpretation of that ‘sun is power’-statement – so who knows, maybe they can grow a leafy girl, using annika´s old body as fertilizer?

So, she’s been infected with dormant zombie virus, active vampire virus, received some power from blood of one of the most psionically advanced creature in the world and was fused with plants… It’s official. Annika is a reality-bending vambieplant.
@Khayne As far as I know, vegetarianism is not caused by fusing with a sentient plant, but if it is… We’re in bigger trouble than I thought. xD
WAIT… If she became vegetarian after fusing with a plant, wouldn’t that be cannibalism?

I’m finally caught up! I feel so, so bad for Joe. I think I cried when Annika died. Please keep working on this story! It’s so good! It’s hard to find good stuff like this.
As a continuation of my last comment because I needed more time to think, I really do hope Annika comes back. But it might not be likely, considering that would remove Joe’s entire reason to do whatever he needs to do, or motivation. We just gotta see what’s in store. As for the vambieplant, that’s pretty cool.
One more thing, I know I shouldn’t be really posting it here, but I’m really proud of it and wanted you guys to see! It’s my first piece of fan art for this webcomic and my first piece of fan art since July or June.
