Can’t remember the first time I saw Neon Genesis Evangelion but I’m sure I was in my teens. I was really into anime at the time (mostly the more “mainstream” ones) and I remember how long it would take to download a 240p fansub from DC or IRC (god, I’m old – 100 points to whoever comments what “DC” stands for :D). Out of all the anime I downloaded and watched, Evangelion is by far the most memorable and had the most impact on my life (along with Dragon Ball, of course). I loved the concepts and complex, weird characters set in a world that was so immersive and, to this day, still feels very Japanese to me. Hearing the cicadas brings me right back to living in Japan :D
I’m so happy that Evangelion is now on Netflix. Sure, I could get the episodes anywhere else and my internet is much faster than it was two decades ago, but having the whole series and two movies (which I strangely don’t remember watching) so conveniently available on any device… okay, now this sounding like I’m a Netflix shill :D

Had a fright for a second when I thought it was Shadilar talking.
I recently watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, and man I thought it was pretty good, especially considering I wasn’t sure if I’d like it initially. The ending had me confused, and I watched Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion and now it makes a bit more sense (I guess?). I still got all those other movies I need to watch.
I think I’m addicted to this series, no new episode for like, what, five days and I’m worrying that it was canceled or something. More on topic, f***ing Victor.
