Have you ever seen a speed cube tournament where children – some not much older than my 9-year-old – are able to solve a 3×3 Rubik’s (as they’re commonly know) cube in like 5 seconds? Well, I dove deep into that rabbit hole on YouTube and very impulsively bought a speed cube last week. I’d never, ever been able to solve a Rubik’s cube, not once, in my entire life until this cube arrived. After watching some incredibly informative videos from J Perm and lots of head-scratching attempts, I finally did it. I solved a 3×3 cube. I checked it off the bucket list :D
I know what you’re asking. In the week I’ve spent practicing, am I now able to beat the world record of 3.47 seconds by Yusheng Du? Not quite. My best time is 9 seconds…

Haha Phil is doing fine… wait Where’s Cory
@Luke Martinelli – Haha, I’ll get one once there’s a beginner’s how-to-solve video on YouTube :D
Rubiks cubes are awesome!! If you wish to improve your time, try learning the F2L method, it got me to 46 seconds best :D
@Tio Ba – That’s amazing! I’ve looked into that method but haven’t wrapped my head around it yet :D Working on it!
Phil makes me nervooooooous
Always, now.
On the plus side… Nevermind, Cash also makes me nervous.
Okay uh, well at least there’s a good old fashion reunion at The Base. No… negatives… there… oh yeah, Cash is in there. Good luck, guys…
