Have you ever played the popular Plants Vs. Zombies (new link, thanks JB!)? It’s been wildly successful and, personally, I enjoy it very much, especially on my iPod when I’m out! The gameplay is addictive and fun and the artwork is colourful and lighthearted, something that not many zombie games have in common. Now it’s time for some brainstorming and I need your help! For everyone who has played, I want your honest opinion! :D
What made the game so much fun? What did you like about it and why? What was missing? What did you wish was included? Anything you have to tell me would be very much appreciated! I have my own thoughts and observations, but I’d love to hear what you have to say! :D

Apparently, it is one of the first TD that the tower is actually vulnerable (just my guess which makes it fun to fight zombie PLUS protect tower at the same time

Actually the old warcraft games had that sort of vulnerability to their towers (in minigame levels an earlier alternate to the hero levels), the main differences I see here between Plants Vs Zombies and the old-style similar games are
1) the speed and acceleration of tower production
2) the grouping of targets
3) the size of the arena
4) ZOMBIES! (in most of the tower games of old you didn’t take notice of this)

thinking back I’d say the only problem I had was never finding that darn Yeti.
the gameplay was nice, vulnerable towers, vulnerable creator of said towers.
(since I have the very first version when it came out, Michael Jackson (rip) zombies etc)
I never got to experience much of trying the opposite, instead of defending doing the attacking etc. (except for that mini game but that wasn’t much now was it?)
I can’t nit pick at anything about that game yet… but if you the author post your own Plants v Zombies issues\thumbs up in the next submission then perhaps I’d be able to submit to you a better… ‘experience of playing plants vs zombies’

This is one of the best episodes thus far. The music was awesome and when Sam let loss with Heaven’s Hammer I almost bit my tongue. Please keep up the great work.

Hmmm now i am suddenly reminded of an Old game i played and enjoyed many years ago named Torment.
In the game there was a part were you could actually meet others self of yours.One good, one neutral and one deep shit crazy evil. i think this scene is kind of similiar with sam being good, joe being neutral(selfish) and Dark joe being Evil (even if he is cold evil and not crazy evil).Now i am starting to wonder if they are all parts of the same guy.

@Locke although he’s much darker that outer Joe and Sam, he’s officially called inner Joe, not dark Joe, just want to clear that up.
So, it’s a four way brawl? Elder wants to destroy Sam and inner Joe does too., inner Joe also wants the elder’s head for helping outer Joe, Sam wants the elder’s head too, but has to quell inner Joe, and there’s weaker outer Joe stuck in the middle of this.
Note this is the FIRST time we’ve seen both Joes on the same screen, only because of a loophole, outer Joe is deeper in the mind, kind of where inner Joe was when we first met him, and took possession of Cubert, not even inner Joe thought of that! which means the Joes will live if outer Joe/Cubert’s body get killed.
Inner Joe.. your a fucking backstabber.. or should I say backspearer?
I think that now Samuel manages to beat Inner Joe. Dominik tryies to eliminate him from behind but Outer Joe finally understands that he won’t get his body back without saving Samuel,and will send Dominik out. Then mysteriously Cubert will appear in the real world with Inner Joe’s mind,and gets finally killed. Samuel remains in Joe’s mind,helping him taking decisions,and everyone’s happy ( except Dominik that gets headache,and that IJ that dies. )

well, it was awesome that as well as unlocking something new every level, a new tower or whatnot, you could buy extra stuff, like increased slots and tower upgrades. plus the idea was good and the artwork awesome

I love how Sam just wtfpwned Dominik.
As for PvsZ.. It is an awesome game. I personally enjoyed the desperation to live as you get overrun, and the many types of plants you could grow.

@Christian Dominik is a zompire. The Joe with dark eyes is Inner Joe, Cubert is awesome, and Sam is a living mind.
@Chistian Cubert is the first mind clone of outer joe. Also the Sam we are seeing has said that Sam uses mind clones to inhabit other body’s than his own.
Last we saw Cubert before this sequence he couldn’t even talk and had the creeper attack. The main outer joe is currently hiding/dead.
It is arguable that inner joe may be a mind clone of outer joe or vice versa, but neither intentionally created the other. (evidence for this is in their arguments never touching the fact of the other’s creation, they would brag)

About Plants Vs Zombies:
Awesome game, one of the most entertaining I’ve ever played on PC and DS. I think the most enjoyable part of the game is the great variety of plants/fungi and, of course, the many hillarious things in the game. Maybe the only thing lacking on it would be a slightly bigger scenario, more achievements and more upgrade seeds, but I’m sure that even if those things weren’t missing, everyone would be itching to havemore and more seeds to grow and more and more zombies to “kill” :P

I would personally like plants vs zombies to be like an open rts game, however with no units (possibly builders). I would like there to be random spawn points on the edges of the map where zombies spawn and you defend your base. I love the idea of plants vs zombies!

Hmmm, I wonder.
You know I’ve always wanted an option to have your ‘homeowner’ in plants vs zombies go out and find other survivable locations on a larger map. He would have to build plant towers along the way in case of zombie attack. That way one could have a multiplayer mode that you could build a town and it’s fortifications with your friends.
I might have to make that myself when I have the time.
Okay first of all love the music! Second of all holy crap its like a all war in Joe’s mind! I don’t think Sam is gonna go down that easily though, think about it, it was a simple impalement, plus its likely that he will do something for the real joe somehow I think.
Now then onto Plant’s vs Zombies I loved the game and at the same time I felt it lacked the luster of variety, cause the zombies all remained the same pretty much and you were only limited by the ideas you could come up with to take them out even with Crazy Dave’s (check on that) additions. Plus I felt like it needed more of a rescue level with a couple of humans running for your safe house while you killed zombies kinda like what you did with your game Joe!
hey joe itd be nice if you could make the scenes longer or put one up earlier! its too interesting to just end it there and im too impatient to wait for a new one XD

Plants VS Zombies? Yeah I played it on my 3ds! It took me nearly a week to finish, which is saying something…
I really hope they throw in a sequel, like Plants&Machines VS Zombies&Aliens or something of the sort. Having to use/fight hybrids of those genres would be wicked, no?
