@Acrontus its a distinct possibility but i doubt Joe would make it that obvious, though if they are why hasn’t Anika manifested powers as well? its possible she isn’t his sister but she might have just not met the right condition for her powers to awaken… i don’t think Joe(character) mentioned siblings. though i might be wrong on that(i haven’t read the archives in a while after all)
oh and i bet if she does end up manifesting she will have a different power-set then Joe has/had

They do bare a remarkable amount of similarities now that I think about it, especially the hair and face.
Joe is definitely older than Anika which means that either she has a while before her powers come, or Joe picked up the powers somehow when he was in the hospital.
I never remember Annika having a brother. I also think Joe is an immediat threat. He should live but be banished to the outside world.

I must say, I was not expecting that from Jess but I was expecting that from Annika.
holy crap! I think Annika is Joe’s younger sister maybe? Or is it older? But I was expecting Jess to slug the doctor and give him the cold shoulder and end it with him, since she does have a thing for Terry after all. Yet I am not sure as to why the Doc felt so threatened by those two, jealousy may have been a part of it…but i also think that the doc felt that Jess was taking a liking to them more and more.
ok my theory is that joe was in a car crash (like joe said in chapter 2) and was in a coma and some scientists/doctors were trying to make a super soldier (aka inner joe) and needed a living body for I.J. so the used outer joe who was in a coma. But outer joe woke up from the coma and had super soldier abilities but with his own mind while Inner joe was trapped in outer joes head. so by this logic annika wouldnt have powers because the powers arent genetic. but this is all in theory of course and could be wrong. Love the comic cant wait to see more!

Wow oh and i think it is also very possible for Annika and Joe to be siblings i remember Joe saied he got hit by a truck or a car and didnt have the powers before waking up in the hospital so it has to do something with him being run over.So i dont think Annika will develope the powers incase she should be Joe’s sister.So awesome as always and i always wait for the next episode but this time ill be ugh i dont know extra waiting it?
An important distinction: did Joe have latent powers before being run over or did somebody infuse him with them while he was comatose?
If the first: it matters whether Annika is his sister in regards to her power levels
If the second: It only matters on a personal level
If the first: the vampires would be interested in Joe for his bloodline
If the second: the vampires would be interested in Joe for knowing who gave him power and if s/he is still giving people power

I love how my expression just went from :o to O_O at the very end.
So I was shocked by that awesome ending!! I wasn’t shocked when Bernie shot Joe, but when blood splattered on the floor my jaw dropped and him dying was even worse!!! I thought Joe was really going to die, but when Anika said she had a bad dream about her brother dying I had to look for some screws to put my jaw back in place after all those WTF moments. I cant wait for the next episode!!!!!!!!!!! XD

Joe and Annika siblings? Possible. Maybe the whole family was infected by the zombie virus ( which would give a reason to the resistance to a zombie’s bite ) but they got a special blood that protects them ( like the Zombpires ) from the full infection. But then again why would Joe be invulnerable to bullets?
