Finally got a scene up :D Thank you for waiting!
10 days ’til our return to Canada! Looking forward to unwinding :D
Enjoy Scene 18 – “No Surprise”!
You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS!
I thought of a few names for Oscar’s family’s boat until I settled on the Ark. Vote to see what those names looked like! :D Please vote for The Pocalypse here everyday! I’m going to try coming up with a new incentive every update (or every few updates) :D Thank you for voting!
Wow nice finally back to Philip(was it?) and the others.Is Doc acting senile or is he really that into it.I think he may just be playing dumb.
I think the sea monster is coming and attack the boat that the boat sincks and they must be there.
I want to know what happens to the religious family.. Seems like it’s going to be a bit sad..
hahaha Darren?
Holy crap that boat look’s freaking awesome nice scene author joe :)
I bet Doc will save them :D
@zach I think so, too. Though I don’t mind if something really surprising would happen!
by the way, author Joe: really really nice comic you got yourself there, I really love it and I’m looking for Updates everyday! Keep the good work going!
Joe,the quality is bad on some computers or laptops.I am shocked to see this borrowed MacbookPro have bad graphics :O
is it possible to download the song at the beginning ?
@Edward – The graphics should be the same no matter what computer you’re using. Make sure that your browser’s zoom level is 100% and that your Flash player quality setting is set to “High” :D
@Roger – We may release a soundtrack when TPD2 is done! :D
Not to be mean or disrespect, but FINALLY!
Uh-oh. And yeah, what Connor said. XD
The ARK?!? It’s a blooming luxury boat!! I…WANT…ONE!! XD
what connor said :P
The tension is growing so much it think I might EXPLODE!!!
i’m pretty sure artist joe knows how to keep the surprise by reading everyone comments and going a different way. VERY good quality and one of the things that keeps me coming back to thepocalypse!
Andy has good taste in boats….
Yes! Finally, some background music. I always thought the scenes were kind of… empty without any bg music while they were talking.
I’ve been wondering about this, what happens to vampires when they don’t feed?
And how did Andy survive for so long in the Jail cell without any food?
Yay I can finally comment after reading all the other comics! I love this series! It’s so dark but funny at the same time! I’m tired as hell but I just wanted to say I think Margaret, Phillip’s mom, is the other sheeelllll…
@randomguy
if i recall correctly, andy, before he was infected with the zombie virus, was just going to let himself die in his isolation. We know vampires are nigh immortal when they feed, so it probably slowly kills them to not eat, like it would with us. Andy survived in the cell for so long, presumably without food, due to the zombie virus. Doc explained how it worked at some point, using lots of smiling bloodcells
Oh, I’m addicted to The Pocalypse! Can’t wait for the game to be done! And I can’t wait to read/see more of the story! I was hoping this episode was longer though.. but that’s just because The Pocalypse rocks! uaaaa, want to see what happends next, hahahah. Joe, you’re awesome!
Wow… Doc is hostile…
On a side note, Author Joe, if you see this, would there be a way to buy and/or download these? This is a really cool series, but I can’t access them everywhere I go because of the limits on the internet’s range. I’d love to have it saved on my computer, bought a chapter at a time? Just a thought and a hope :)
@Dyl – We’re thinking about having chapters available for mobile devices but there’s some work involved since nothing supports Flash these days :D But it is planned for the future and I will definitely let all of you know when we start the process!
Why let them have a luxury boat? I’d rather just drift into the sea with a regular boat. This is soooo confusing I mean wouldn’t that ATTRACT the zombies as well as other things?
“We’re thinking about having chapters available for mobile devices but there’s some work involved since nothing supports Flash these days”
*cough* Android *cough*
has supported Flash ever since 2.2 (Froyo). Apple customers can run Flash players.
@mecca vanwyck im not really sure if the zombies can swim, the machines probably wouldnt wanna waste their time, and they already have a vampire problem, and i dont think a regular boat would have enough fuel capacity and/or carry their stuff.
Hey Joe,
Not sure if you will see this but I am a late-comer to your comic and absolutely love it! I am fully caught up and missed the deadline to donate to The Pocalypse Tower Defense II. Is there any way to still donate and get the perks from indiegogo? I would really like to support the cause! Keep up the good work, and I am sharing this comic with all my friends at the local comic shop. Rave reviews so far from everyone!
in 9gag they were wondering what would happend if a zombie bites a vampire… here is the response author joe! http://9gag.com/gag/4738710/?add_post=success
@Gaurammos: I have a memecenter response to that.

Whoah! Hold it right there Joe, saying no mobile platform supports flash is an overstatement. Android, which is the most widespread mobile is supports flash.
I personally think, however that it should be possible to port you series to some other format, making it more versatile, but I do not know which that should be.
Thanks for commenting, new readers! Welcome to The Pocalypse! :D
@MrBester & Rasmus Nielsen – Haha, yes that was an overstatement :D Rich and I have been talking about porting chapters to the iOS platform since it is the only mobile platform we’ve worked on. But we have a lot of other stuff keeping us occupied :D HTML5 is a format that would make the comic more versatile but I’m so used to how easy Flash is to use and I have no time to learn something new ;) Perhaps one day the format will change due to necessity but, for now, Flash is the best way for me to tell the story :D
@Anthony – Thanks for reading and sharing! We haven’t discussed further crowdfunding opportunities for TPD2 but if we think of more perks and/or offers, we’ll let you know!
@Gaurammos & Connor – Haha, awesome! The Pocalypse is definitely my answer to that question! :D
WOOOHOOO!!!! I AM RELEVANT!
I want to know what will hapen with the giant fish if you remember
@Joe
Easy to use? Last I heard Flash was fairly complicated and a bit of a bother.
Well, I’ve noticed that the only thing connecting Philip’s story and Joe’s story are the zompires. (Or vampires, I forgot.) Anyway, nice webcomic, Joe!
When Dominik was talking:
“Oh God no….please no….don’t tell me…NOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
“Replay scree again =_=”
Umm… is the webcomic still going? Because you haven’t updated in an entire week, and you say you’ll update 2-4 times a week.
@BloodWolf7 – I personally find it super easy to use! As a person with no programming background, Adobe Flash’s interface is very user/noob-friendly, especially for something as simple as The Pocalypse :D The tough (and time-consuming) part is creating all the art assets, which is Photoshop’s job!
@Lil’ T – Yup, it’s still going! :D We’re making a big move from Japan to Canada and we’re packing up our entire lives in as little baggage as we can. This and a ton of other errands are taking up 100% of my time and I can’t fit The Pocalypse in, unfortunately :( But we get back to Canada on Tuesday and I hope I won’t need any time to recover because I want to get right back to working on the comic and our games :D The show will go on (probably 2 times a week)! Thank you all for your patience! :D
Hey Joe, I bet you still do some considerations about the Pocalypse while packing; watching the old ones i realized i don’t think i’ve seen joe use his wristblades more than once (the first time) could you please let him use those again, it was super awesome IMO :D
Good luck with packing, i know moving is hard, though it is hard to wait when youre an addict, LoL XD
I really like this comic! The graphics remind so much of Habbo Hotel which I played like 7 years ago! :D Pixels are epic :D
@Lil’ T
Don’t worry, Joe hasn’t let us down yet. Occasionally, with the trips to Japan and Canada, he’s taken a bit of time, but he’s always back around and ready to deliver more before too long!
@Joe – Ah, okay. That’s completely understandable! Keep up the good work, and make sure you don’t forget anything (or anyone) important when you’re packing!
@Bloodwolf7 – Yep! I just hope his plane or boat doesn’t have any zompires stowing aboard! Watch your back Joe!!!
@Joe
I think it will take you longer than you think to recover from your move. My family and I lived in Korea for a few years, and, even with trips back to the states, it still took us over a week just for our time clocks to get on what a normal schedule would be here. Personally, I would plan on not being able to do too much, between unpacking and the time change, for at least a week, possibly two. That said, coming from an addicted readers mouth, please don’t take too long, but coming from the part of me that can think rationally right now, take the time you need to get settled. That’s more important than the comic, because if you’re not settled before you resume work, uploads are going to be horribly infrequent. :) Oh, and I hope all is well in the land of the rising sun as you prepare for one of your last rising suns there.
Best wishes,
Blackmoon845
Don’t worry Joe, I agree with Blackmoon845 here, take all the time you need! Especially with your wife and little one, it could be even worse to get back onto a regular schedule. No worries man, we’ll all be waiting patiently.
Yep
Have fun until your service provider gives you internet again.And finally,a computer,less backpains now when your on the bed :) Also,I got a new memory card,which means I can look at your scenes much faster :D
It’s been 11 days. Not long until that next episode!
Hope you enjoy being back home, rest and relax all you need, and hope you’re ready to make the new scene soon
Looking for updates and reading “No surprise”
Thank you all for understanding! :D
I’m all rested, adjusted, and I have my first full day of work tomorrow! So, the scene should be done sometime tomorrow! I’m just as eager as you are!
