Saying Goodbye is Hard to Do | June 30, 2012

by Joe

Sorry about the short scene! Thanks for voting! :D

My family is leaving Japan in less than a month and we’re saying our tearful goodbyes to the amazing friends that we’ve gotten so close to these last 3 years. But living in another culture for so long and fitting in has taught me that the world is a tiny place and I know we’ll see all of our friends in Japan again :D

We’re making the most of the rest of our time in Japan but I won’t stop making scenes or working on TPD2 :D

Speaking of TPD2, there are a few Machine Tier funders that still need to reply to my e-mail! If you’re a Machine Tier funder ($75), please let me know if you didn’t get a thank you e-mail with some questions on it! Thanks! :D

Enjoy Scene 17 – “Joe’s Decision?”!

You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS!

Ever wonder what Arbiter looked like before we all decided on “Arbiter”? Vote to see what “Stinger Mk II” looked like! :D Please vote for The Pocalypse here everyday! I’m going to try coming up with a new incentive every update (or every few updates) :D

I like the way you used Joe’s hotheadedness to show him he didn’t need super strength :) and I wish you luck in moving back to Canada Joe <3

Almost mind crafting in the real world.. But you are right he hasn’t trained that ability (i think he never try to mind craft in the real realm) enough to understand it

Man, give me the Mindcraft ability…. But nice decision. I love your comic and hate it to wait so long… i m in China, its a bit difficult for me to donate money but you have my best wishes and i told others about the webcomic. Keep up the good work and remember:
Rest belongs to work, as the eyelid to the eye.

I just returned after a relatively long hiatus, so annoyed that I missed ‘Pocalypse Defence 2 donations and the power vote, luckily both turned out how I would have wished. Happy to be back Joe, this was awesome

Typo- “Joe, you must rest for *a* short while”.
It IS hard to say goodbye, but nothing lasts forever. That’s why it’s so important to make the most of our time with those we love. Isn’t there a Kate Bush song about that? “This Woman’s Work”, I believe. But anyway, I’m rambling…

Hey just noticed on the scene where Sam says to Joe that they should rest it says “Joe, you must rest for short while…”. It should say “Joe, you must rest for a short while…” Other than that, great episode!

Of course invulnerability would be a similar color to regeneration. They are often close to the same thing, with regeneration being a pseudo-invulnerability. I’m thinking that Super Strength would either be red, black, yellow, or a dark green, and super speed would be blue, yellow, turquoise, or white, maybe white with another color mixed in a little. And I lol’d when Joe got that rock thrown at him. XD

Wait, I thought it was impenetrable skin. Wouldn’t that mean he can still break bones, just not as easily since they would never be exposed to whatever danger might break them?

still sad, he didnt get the mindcrafting ability. he would have needed practise, but considering how fast he managed to learn the ability in the dreamworld, it probably wouldnt have taken him long to get practise in the real world. and when he did, he would practically have been a one man army.

it should definitely be second on the list, just because there is no way his enemies would ever expect that power.

(well, if he ever manages to get another power from victor)

Good choice. I’m beginning to think me and Samuel are very much alike.

Glad to hear it, help vote it up on TopWebComics. Since Joe’s moving it’s bound to be a bit slow getting the next one out, but it shouldn’t be too much longer.

I’m not entirely convinced that inner joe is victor. i also think that joe getting the real world mindcrafting would probably release inner joe.

AGH!!! I wish I could help you on Indiegogo, but 1) I’m not an adult, and to spend money on this I’d have to run it through my parents, 2) I don’t have 1,000 dollars to spend, and 3) It’s over. I could probably give about 50 dollars though, so is there any other way to contribute even though it’s over?

wouldve liked for him to have his strength but at least he will now be almost indestrctuble. If that is Victor that makes him the most powerful being on the planet cos if Sam said he couldnt have controlled him then thats bad. love the way the story is heating up! I wonder if they will reach the Eldar in time tho

Is no one else worried that Joe has no offensive powers? He won’t go down easy but the only useful thing he can be is a shield since he can’t hurt a strong vampire, mutant or machine with normal human strength. On the flip side without enhanced durability Dark Joe will probably die or horribly cripple himself if he uses his super strength, his body can’t take the force. Same story if he hits something while using his speed.,
